LPG for caravans and motorhomes
Portable leisure cylinders and fixed vehicle tanks need different refill services. Search the listings for your country, then check the exact cylinder or tank, connection and vehicle access with the supplier before travelling.
Find a service in your country
- United States: HouseGas listings include suppliers that advertise RV propane or bottle filling. U-Haul’s locator also searches its US and Canadian propane refill network; call first to confirm your RV can access the site.
- Canada: Listings include selected RV and cylinder refill locations. Propane Depot lists cylinder and RV appliance-tank filling in Greater Vancouver; Mutual Propane identifies participating Alberta dealer locations, some of which fill RVs. Check each site before setting out.
- United Kingdom: Calor lists 6kg and 13kg caravan and motorhome bottles. Flogas Gaslight offers 5kg and 10kg leisure cylinders. Availability and connectors vary by outlet.
- Australia: Supagas SupaSwap offers 3.7kg and 8.5kg portable cylinder exchanges through participating retailers. Hotgas describes service for 8.5kg camping and caravan cylinders in its local area.
- New Zealand: LPG4U’s bottle guide identifies 4kg and 4.5kg sizes for campervans and caravans; contact the supplier to confirm stock and delivery around Canterbury.
- Ireland: Calor’s 6kg propane bottle is specifically listed for motorhomes and caravans. Flogas Gaslight lists 5kg and 10kg cylinders for caravans and motorhomes; use its Eircode stockist finder.
Check before you refill or exchange
- Tell the supplier whether you have a removable cylinder or a permanently installed vehicle tank. A bottle exchange outlet may not fill a fixed tank.
- Confirm the cylinder size, valve, regulator and appliance gas type. Connections and LPG mixes differ between markets; imported appliances may need a qualified compatibility check.
- Ask whether the site can accommodate your vehicle and whether it refills, exchanges or only sells cylinders.
- Use an authorised gasfitter for installation or alteration work. Never refill a cylinder yourself.
HouseGas listings are starting points, not confirmation that a particular location can fill your cylinder or vehicle. Confirm current stock, access, compatibility and local safety requirements directly with the supplier. In New Zealand, WorkSafe says caravan and motorhome gasfitting must be done by an authorised person. In Ireland, the government caravan fire-safety guidance covers LPG cylinder placement and securing.
